The Sixth New York Volunteer Cavalry was a famed Union cavalry regiment that served with distinction during the American Civil War. Under the command of Thomas Devin, the regiment saw extensive service throughout many engagements in the Eastern Theatre including Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville and Gettysburg to name but a few. In total, the Sixth was involved in over 140 engagements during the course of the war, with 6 members of the regiment receiving the Medal of Honor during their service.

In War of Rights, the 6th is a new regiment formed from an experienced player base that have a mastery of Poinsett's Cavalry Tactics, ensuring that from the beginning the standard maintained within the 6th New York Cavalry will be second to none. The structure of the company also reflects the historical composition of a cavalry company, hence the number of non-commissioned officers will be reflective of the size of the regiment. Initially, our events are focused on EU timezones but all players are encouraged to join regardless of their timezone and we are growing an NA player base so will seek to expand to NA events in the future. Above all else, this regiment is a drama-free community. No individual will be above the rules and Code of Conduct, and all should feel equally valued in the function of the regiment.
